Mission Statement

Allele Biotechnology and Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a San Diego based company with a focus on innovative research in life sciences. Privately owned, Allele Biotech has three lines of business: 1) manufacturing molecular and cell biology reagents, 2) performing custom service projects such as gene cloning and cell line development, and 3) developing novel technologies, particularly in the fields of RNAi, antibody screening, and fluorescent proteins.

Allele was incorporated in 1999 as a biotechnology discovery company. Its research efforts in basic and translational science were mainly supported by grants or contracts from the National Institutes of Health. Ongoing technology projects include RNA interference technologies, RNA signal amplification and detection, antibody selection, and fluorescent protein development. Current basic research focuses on adipocyte development in relation to obesity and diabetes. In 2001, Allele’s R&D efforts yielded a breakthrough in ease-of-use for the broadly applicable RNA interference technique: the Allele LineSilence platform. It offered the first DNA-based RNAi product kit to the market in 2002, which was later exclusively out-licensed to a major marketing partner until 2004.

The Allele Team le Team is comprised of a diverse group of trained professionals in all areas related to our business. Allele’s scientists and research associates are highly regarded in their individual areas of expertise. The customer service and technical support groups are knowledgeable and enthusiastic in helping customers. Most importantly, the close interactions among researchers and customer service staff continue to reinforce the understanding of how biologists would think and require as customers of Allele’s reagents and equipments. Our research tools allow for an infinite amount of possibilities in the world of molecular biology. We are excited to see what the future will bring. We do not just listen, we make things happen.
