Allele was allowed a second patent in RNAi…[05/16/08]
Allele Biotech has received notification for allowance from USPTO that a second patent, much broader than the one already issued to Allele in November 2007. This technology covers both human and mouse U6 promoters engineered to express siRNA, shRNA or miRNA. This patent particularly enables the usage of short dsRNA for gene silencing suitable for mammalian systems. Allele will be happy to out-license its complete RNAi patent suite to pharmaceutical and other drug-screening companies.
Combining its exclusive rights granted by the recent RNAi patents with its existing assay development and sample analysis services, some of the best fluorescent proteins, advances in Luciferase testing, and 3 month turnaround monoclonal level antibodies, the Service Department of Allele Biotech will be able to help customer companies get more results more quickly and at lower costs. Industrial partners are encouraged to contact Allele Biotech for more details.
