NKTest

Natural Killer Cell Activity

A complete reagent kit for the quantitative analysis of Natural Killer (NK) cell cytotoxic activity using Flow Cytometry. NK cells are part of the innate immune response to infections and tumors, they can recognized stressed cells in the absend of antibodies and MHC allowing for a faster immune response. Dye labeled effector and target cells are incubated and the ratio of live and dead target cells is measured to characterize NK cell activity.

 Indications

A number of conditions can depress natural killer cell activity in patients, severely dimishing the body's response to infections and other undesired cellular materials.  These conditions include:

  • Advanced cancer
  • AIDS and other immunocompromising conditions
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Chronique fatigue syndrome
  • Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
  • Sjögrens's syndrome
  • Chédiak-Higashi disease (CHD)
  • Psychological stress

Advantages

  • A highly sensitive test for whole blood
  • No radioisotopes, which can be potentially hazardous
  • Materials are pre-labeled to save time
  • Stable for at least 12 weeks, 6 fold more than radioisotope labeled kits
  • No spontaneous leakage of labels from cells
  • Enough reagents supplied for multiple Effector:Target cell ratios
  • A complete kit containing cryopreserved K562 target cells, complete medium and staining reagents.
